first_imgPRESIDENTIAL candidate Dana Rosemary Scallon is coming to Donegal today, Saturday, as her rocked campaign gets back on the road. She will go on walkabouts of Bundoran, Donegal Town and Ballybofey this evening following several days in the public spotlight over what she has said are false sexual allegations against a member of her family.Following her bizarre statement on Prime Time on Wednesday evening in which she first highlighted the claims, she went on TV3 yesterday to deny a host of allegations. She referred to the internet and claims being carried there, telling TV3 that the allegations surfaced in a court case in America about five years ago and that no allegation of abuse had been made to the police. She told the station that no action was taken, either by the alleged victim or by the family of the alleged victim. She said that because the alleged victim hadn’t made a complain that this “proves that this is a false allegation.”“If it were me or if it were someone related to me, I would certainly act upon it,” she said. “My sincere thanks to all those who have sent messages of support in these difficult times to myself and my family. I look forward to the next two weeks of campaigning and a Presidential result that will finally reflect the true will of the people,” said Dana in a statement.UNDER PRESSURE DANA HEADS FOR DONEGAL TO ESCAPE ‘SEXUAL’ MEDIA STORM was last modified: October 15th, 2011 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img
