We encourage you to review the job postingsbelow and to contact us for additional information.Building Engineer/HVAC Maintenance Location:Washington, DC Sidwell Friends, a coeducational, PK-12 Quaker day school withcampuses in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD, seeks a full-timeBuilding Engineer. The position is based on our D.C. campus butwill also be required to be present on our Bethesda, MD campus afew days throughout the week. The Building Engineer is responsiblefor the daily physical campus maintenance which includes but is notlimited to monitoring, maintaining, adjusting and repairing allbuilding HVAC and/or plumbing systems and equipment to allow forthe safe and smooth operation of all school buildings, across bothcampuses.The ideal candidate will possess a developed and demonstratedexpertise in either or both HVAC or plumbing. HVAC work may includebut is not limited to installation, inspection, troubleshooting andrepair of boilers, chillers, pumps, air handlers, filters, valves,VAVs, unit ventilators, ductwork, compressors and the digitalcontrol system. Plumbing work may include but is not limited tomaking installations, modifications, and repairs to new or existingplumbing, pipes, fittings, and drains.Other duties include but are not limited to helping with snowremoval, shelving, play/theater props, physical educationequipment, assisting with periodic safety drills, etc. The idealcandidate will also make preparations for the many events held onthe campus, including set up and break downs.Must have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC and/orplumbing. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experiencewith leading basic maintenance projects, developing and writingscope of work, schedule and budget, using basic MS Office suitesoftware and maintaining database of project information. Abilityto work within a team with a strong customer service orientationand relationship building is required.
