Woman held for selling drugs her family involved in 40 cases

first_imgNew Delhi: A 60-year-old woman was nabbed from South Delhi’s Tigri area for selling drugs, police said on Tuesday. The investigators claimed that the accused’s family had been committing crime since 2006 and is involved in nearly 40 criminal cases.Police identified the accused as Anisha Ali who lives in the JJ Camp in Tigri. “On interrogation, the woman said that she has five sons, all are criminals and drug addicts,” an officer said. “The accused’s family has already gone to jail 24 times,” police said adding that the woman was involved in selling drugs from last 10 years. The cost of the narcotics substance is more than five lakh rupees. “We are probing from where she was procuring drugs,” said Thakur. Adding further, he said that Anisha was also selling drugs to minors. She was active in Tigri and Sangam Vihar area. A team of Tigri police station under Inspector Sunil nabbed the woman. “She started this illegal business to fulfill the needs of her drug addicts sons. They are also in judicial custody, so she needs to support them. Selling drugs was her only source of income,” an officer said. “The people of the area are feeling very relieved with the arrest of this lady. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the officer added.last_img read more
